Piharamata & the Dream Factory

Piharamata & the Dream Factory...

Her name literally means "to tear out one's eyes," but, even though she has character, you should rely on the softness of her voice. Piharamata, our 4WD of the open space, makes sure our dream factory keeps running all year round. When one of our travel agents takes a few days off (believe it or not, we do like a snowcation once in a while), she takes over their inbox and ensures to fulfill your expectations. As for her origins, you might have guessed from her selection that she comes from Bora Bora. She is quite proud of it, to say the least... You can't trip her on the matter, she knows the best spots and everything you need to know about the Heiva.

Your soft spot

We said "soft spot" but, at this point, I think we should talk about "love at first sight"... It was indeed at the Maitai Polynesia Bora Bora that Pihara met the man who now shares her life. She worked at the reception, in housekeeping, and then in the supply department, while he worked in maintenance and, since then, they haven't left each other's side. If there’s one thing she remembers from her stay, it’s the friendly atmosphere and the kindness of the staff. You’d almost feel like you were in a family-run guesthouse, with a 3-star quality service...

Lagoon Tour and Cultural Experience on an Islet

Same player shoots again. As you might guess, we’re staying in Bora Bora for a full-day lagoon tour. There are plenty of boats here on the water, but this one hits different... First, because it feels like you've booked a private tour as the staff turns out to be really considerate and second, because the cultural immersion is complete. You’ll have the opportunity to visit Narii's motu, make a bracelet from shells, plant a local species like a tamanu or a tiare Tahiti, create a basket with coconut leaves, and even learn the basics of va'a (outrigger canoe).

Tips

To read : "I have tested for you... Deep-sea Fishing"

You may not feel the same, but for a child of the Tuamotu islands, the sea spray on the skin and the smell of freshly caught fish are a bit like our madeleine de Proust. Pihara grew up between Takapoto and Hao, alongside her grandpa who happened to be a fisherman, so whenever we talk to her about deep-sea fishing, she remembers nibbling on the heart of the fish on the very boat - without lemon, mind you...
