Raihei or Polynesian authenticity

Raihei or Polynesian authenticity

Raihei was raised immersed in one of the most cherished values of our culture: sharing. From her mother, who worked in a local airline company, she understood at a young age the importance of the connections we build with each visitor. Growing up, her family moved frequently : the West coast of Tahiti, Rangiroa, Moorea, then the East coast of Tahiti, and Tubuai during vacation. Child of the islands, she lived extraordinary adventures there. Today, with a successful career in luxury tourism, Raihei guides you through creating the journey of your lifetime, fueled by the same passion for sharing our culture.

Your soft spot

favorite hotel

As she grew up a couple of years in Rangiroa, Raihei recommends the Hotel Kia Ora Resort & Spa, for how amazingly comfortable it is, considering it is located on an atoll. The air-conditioned villas are spacious, and a coral wall encloses a private garden including a stunning private swimming pool and an outdoor bath. The overwater restaurant is the best place for sunset. Raihei highly recommends tasting fish, as fish in the Tuamotu are as fresh as it can get.

The Activity you recommend

What Raihei loves most about tours (and so do we) are the professionals who bring it to life. Which is why she recommends the Blue Lagoon in Rangiroa. It takes nearly an hour to reach it. Traditional navigators pass down their knowledge regarding stars, oceans and voyages from generation to generation. Raihei still has vivid memories of that captain, who knew the lagoon like the back of her hand, describing her reference points on the horizon and eagerly sharing her intangible heritage. How could we not recommend these kinds of encounters with the soul of our nuna'a (people)?

Your travel trip

Raihei is fond of authentic experiences, those that physically express our culture. The traditional dance, the 'Ori Tahiti is the ultimate expression of our culture. This fundamental part of our heritage goes along with orchestra of traditional instruments, such as the pahu (local drum) . Each costume and movement carries its own meaning, much like words in a sentence. Raihei therefore recommends attending a show during your stay or, even better, take a lesson of 'Ori Tahiti.

Remember when we said that our team loves food last month ? Well, Raihei is no exception. She loves cooking and often infuses her recipes with vanilla. Her latest culinary delight: a frangipane galette of sweet vanilla aroma. The black gold of the Pacific, of intense fragrance, owes its excellence to the mastery of local farmers. It is thanks to their hands, marked by their labor with vanilla and soil, that this product has reached unparalleled recognition. Discover this treasure of our land in this article.

In their own words

"It was the best Tahiti trip we have ever taken. Our overwater bungalow was super nice and the lagoon was amazing. The snorkeling was beautiful around the hotel and we did a lot of lagoon walking. The food at the hotel was delicious, especially the breakfast buffet. Again, thank you for all the work you did for us. It was truly an amazing vacation." - Herb & Sharon
